Who will be next CM of Karnataka? Check out this survey

Ahead of the Karnataka Assembly elections 2023, a survey conducted in the poll bound state showed Congress leader Siddaramaiah is the most preferred Chief Minister in the state.

The survey, conducted by NDTV and Lokniti-CSDS showed that Siddaramaiah is the top pick for the next Karnataka Chief Minister, followed by the incumbent Basavaraj Bommai of the BJP.

The survey was conducted from 20-28 April among 2,143 registered voters in 82 polling booths, according to NDTV.

The survey found that Siddaramaiah was slightly more popular among older voters, while young voters preferred Bommai as CM. Janata Dal Secular (JDS) leader HD Kumaraswamy and Congress’s DK Shivakumar were the third and fourth most popular chief minister candidates, respectively. Surprisingly, the BJP’s BS Yediyurappa, who has never completed a term despite being a four-time chief minister, ranked fifth.

The survey also revealed that party and candidate were more important to voters than the individual running for chief minister. A majority of respondents (56 per cent) considered the party to be the most important factor, while 38 per cent considered the candidate. Only 4 per cent said they voted based on the chief minister candidate.

The Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023 are scheduled to be held on 10 May while the counting of votes will take place on 13 May.
