Blind conspiracy in the election arena: Electoral irregularities belonging to the 100 crore club.

The Chief Electoral Officer’s office said the value of cash, liquor and freebies seized since the Model Code of Conduct was promulgated on March 29 had reached close to Rs 100 crore till Sunday and the number of cases related to it had reached 792.

The CEO said 99.18 crore value was seized since the enactment of the Model Code of Conduct ( MCC) in the state since March 29.

36.8 crore cash, 15.46 crore worth of free goods, 5.2 lakh liters of liquor worth 30 crore, 15 crore worth of gold, 2.5 crore worth of silver jewelery were seized in just 10 days of MCC enforcement.

A static surveillance team seized 34 lakh cash in Yadgiri district and 56 televisions worth 21 lakh in Nelamangala constituency of Bengaluru rural district on Sunday. The Excise Department seized 54,282 liters of liquor worth Rs 1.62 crore.

The 224 Member Force Karnataka Assembly will hold an election on May 10 and the result will be published on May 13.
