Delay in getting recognition as a national party: AAP petitions High Court

Bengaluru Ap.06 : AAP has filed a petition in Karnataka High Court alleging delay in getting national party recognition.

The Aam Aadmi Party, which had shown excellent performance in the Gujarat assembly elections, was guaranteed national party recognition. However, AAP has filed a petition questioning the non-recognition so far.

The petition said that although the Aam Aadmi Party has fulfilled all the conditions to become a national party, there is delay in getting national status.

A party that gets state party recognition in four states will get national party status. AAP, which is at the helm in Delhi and Punjab, has two MLAs in Goa. Now the party is fielding its candidates in Karnataka assembly elections as well.
